WE BUILD AND REPAIR SMALL WOODEN BOATS
Using traditional skills, we at Solent Wooden Boats make and repair small wooden boats, as well as peripheral items including oars and spars. We have particular experience of working on unique projects that need a flexible approach and much problem solving to meet a customer’s needs. This has included one off prototype designs of both yachts and rowing boats. We also repair spars and hatches and can undertake non-marine work.
BOAT CONSTRUCTION
We are happy to undertake wooden boat builds using traditional and modern techniques. This is an example of a nesting yacht tender.
BOAT PERIPHERALS
We can make custom peripherals. These are flat oars for a St Ayles skiff but we can also make other types such as spoon oars for Cornish gigs.
BOAT REPAIRS
We can repair clinker boats, repair oars, undertake varnishing as well as other items. Also we can fit replacement oar leathers using traditional techniques.
